Textile Technique Toolbox – Learn To See and Draw!

Local Perth artist and educator Miriam Gardiner will start you along a journey in basic seeing and drawing skills, giving you a solid foundation from which to go on to further work in drawing and textiles.

This will be a series of 3 Textile Technique Toolbox sessions running on Sundays: March 4, 11 and 18, from 10-1pm at the Studio in Craft House

You will be trying out a variety of materials as you explore a holistic way of drawing which enables you to learn to really ‘see’, not just ‘look’, as you draw.

Building your confidence, hand-eye coordination, observation of shape and tone, linear perspective and really exploring your creativity through free form drawing in a series of guided exercises throughout the series of workshops.

No experience necessary, just a willingness to experiment and learn!  Suitable for all WAFTA members!

See Miriam’s work on her Facebook page or website.

You will need to bring

  • at least 15 sheets of  A2 (or approximate) butchers or drawing paper (nothing special!)
  • 1 x box of willow charcoal
  • 1 x stick compressed charcoal
  • 1 x 4b pencil
  • 1 x kneadable eraser
