Last Saturday workshop participants at the first session of WAFTA@WAM 2018 were welcomed to Craft House foyer by three wonderful examples of the Wearable Art from the WAM (Wearable Art Mandurah) Showcase 2017.
Run by Perth textile artist and highly successful WAM entrant Louise Wells, the workshop program is designed to assist participants step-by-step through the processes and challenges to create and enter their work in the upcoming 2018 competition. Five full day sessions over five months are on offer to workshop participants and it is fully booked.
At this first workshop Louise shared her successes and her disasters with the group! In the first session of the day Louise started with brainstorming and developing ideas, concepts, timelines, commitment and expectations.
Each month future sessions will provide group support and mentoring to participants.
The final session will be all about the Application process, Artist Statements, Models, Makeup and Photography of garments.
Louise is really looking forward to seeing the progress of the amazing creations by this enthusiastic and skilled group of ladies.
